Reading, Writing & Test Prep Michele brings a deep love of language and a strong academic foundation in English to East Cobb Tutoring Center. She holds a Master of Arts in English from the University of Memphis where she earned Distinguished Master’s Degree Candidate for teaching, scholarship & research. Michele has also completed doctoral coursework in English at Iowa State University (ABD) where she earned a Teaching Award from the Graduate College. Her academic training emphasizes critical reading, analytical writing, and clear, purposeful communication—skills she now helps students develop with confidence.
Throughout her career, Michele has been a professional writer, editor, and communication strategist, crafting speeches, presentations, and instructional materials for diverse audiences. She has extensive experience breaking down complex ideas, teaching structure and clarity, and helping others express their thoughts effectively—key skills for strong reading comprehension and writing success. Additionally, Michele has taught at a variety of levels, earning two teaching awards for her work.
Michele works with students in English, reading, and writing, focusing on building foundational skills, strengthening analysis, and developing a confident voice. She also enjoys helping students prepare for the reading and writing portions of the SAT and ACT. Michele believes that strong literacy skills open doors in every subject and is passionate about helping students become thoughtful readers and clear, capable writers.
In her free time, Michele enjoys energizing activities like hiking and yoga, playing an occasional game of chess, or discussing a great read in book club.
