Private Tutoring – in our East Cobb office & online!
What to Expect at Your Individual Tutoring Session
In person tutoring: Get ready for your first tutoring appointment! On your first day, you should bring all your school materials – even if there is no homework. Your tutor will look at your school materials to better understand your needs. You can connect your school computer to our WIFI network, so bring that along too. If you are coming to our center for reading, please bring a book that you will enjoy. Don’t worry if you don’t have a book – we have a little library right in our office! Our leveled reading books are appropriate for emerging readers all the way through middle school. Read the reviews written by Metro Atlanta families about East Cobb Tutoring Center.
Virtual tutoring: Once you have enrolled in a virtual session, we automatically create meeting links for you. The session is only 55 minutes, so it is important that you know how to use your computer and are ready with your school materials and assignments. Math students should have paper, pencil and a calculator ready to go. Read the reviews written by families from around the country about East Cobb Tutoring Center.
Buddy sessions: Both students work with the same tutor at the same time, and both families get a discount! Buddy Sessions are available for all of our content areas and for all grade levels. Please contact us to arrange buddy sessions so we can apply your discount.

What Subjects are Available for Tutoring?
Elementary Subjects: Our elementary school tutors are ready for whatever your child brings in. We can easily pivot between math facts and spelling lists, just give us a heads up so we are ready for your child. The topics we cover include reading, writing, math, science, social studies, homework help, and preparation for Milestones and other standardized tests. Please send your child with all their school materials, including their school laptop. If your child is working on critical reading, please send in their book from school or home. We have a small library in the office, but if there is something that your child wants to read we will use it! If your child is headed to a private middle school and needs to take the SSAT, we can help with that too!

Middle School Subjects: Middle school tutors tend to specialize in one or two content areas – the tutor you use for math will likely be a different tutor than you will use for reading. Our middle school tutors either work with students K-8 or 6-12, depending on the tutor’s preference and expertise. Our middle grades tutors are available to help with all content areas including reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and general homework help. We can also help your child prepare for the PSAT for magnet high school admissions. If your middle schooler is taking high school classes like Algebra 1, 9th Grade Physical Science or Spanish, please select one of our high school tutors to make sure your child has the best possible experience at tutoring.

High School Subjects: Our high school tutors are highly specialized and most tutor in only one subject area. We can help pair your child with the best tutor for all levels of math and science, including AP classes like Calculus and Physics. We also offer individual tutoring for a variety of English and Social Studies classes as well as Spanish. Whether your child is in biology as a freshman or AP Chemistry as a senior, we can help. High school can be a stressful time, so our tutors are equipped with both subject matter knowledge and positive attitudes. In addition to subject matter tutoring, we offer individual and small group test prep for the SAT and ACT. At the end of the school year we also offer small group reviews for EOC tests and AP exams.
Dual Enrollment Programs: If your child is taking a DE class and needs support, we can help! Our tutors are familiar with the dual enrollment programs available in our area and can help with math, science, English and more.
College Students: Take us to college! Many of our students continue working with East Cobb Tutoring Center after they go to college by utilizing virtual sessions. We can help your child find success in their general ed classes including biology, chemistry, physics, calculus and statistics.
