A one-class overview of the PSAT for students taking the test in October, 2026
Get ready for the PSAT with East Cobb Tutoring Center! Our program includes an at-home, full-length practice test plus 3 hours of instruction at our office in Marietta. Each session includes math and reading & writing.

When is the PSAT administered and who takes it?
The PSAT will be administered at school in October. All sophomores take the PSAT as practice for the SAT and some schools also offer the PSAT to freshman. There is typically no cost associated with taking the PSAT during sophomore year and registration is handled by the school. Juniors who are interested in the National Merit Scholarship Competition also take the PSAT, there is typically a fee for these students and registration is required.
How is your PSAT prep program structured?
Our class meets for 3 hours. Half of that time is dedicated to math instruction and the other half is for reading and writing. Don’t worry, we’ll give you a break in the middle! Your enrollment also includes a practice test – we will send you the link ahead of time so you can take the test at home before our class meets. We will review the material during class, and we will teach you some great tricks for conquering the test.
What if I need extra time to take my practice test?
If you use testing accommodations, we can add time (1.5x or 2x) to your practice test, just let us know if you need it. If you simply don’t have enough time to take a full practice test, don’t worry — you can pause it and save your work!
Where does your PSAT class take place?
This is an in person program at East Cobb Tutoring Center: 1240 Johnson Ferry Rd, Suite B70, Marietta, GA 30062.
What if my child is taking the PSAT in January or February for magnet high schools?
This is not the right time for your student to prepare for the PSAT. Please give us a call so we can let you know when our PSAT 8/9 programs will be available for students applying to magnet programs.
